Some of our technicians choose to work under both economic statuses to give themselves greater flexibility, or because they work multiple types of jobs needing different contractual frameworks. For example, having both statuses gives you the possibility to use your self-employment status for smaller projects to facilitate the employment process or to include any equipment you want to sell for hire. On the other hand, a ‘CDD’ can be advantageous for longer projects where you will benefit from greater job security.
However, playing it both ways also means that you will need to pay double the social security benefits and will only be reimbursed by the CCSS after submitting your annual tax declaration for that year.
