    How to count your holidays?

If you work under a fixed-term employment contract (CDD) for an uninterrupted period of three months or more, you have the legal right to ask for paid leave, which can be added to the end of your work period or can be agreed upon otherwise with your employer. The number of days of paid leave and period in which you will claim them needs to be discussed with your employer before signing the contract and noted in the contract.

Under Luxembourgish employment law, you are entitled to 2.167 days of paid leave per month (as of 28 February 2022).

    For example, if you signed a contract for 15 weeks (three months and two weeks), you would be allowed to take (2.167 + 2.167 + 2.167 + [2.167/2] = 6.501 + 1.0835 = 7.5845) 7.5 days of paid leave.

If you are a technician with a disability, a former war veteran or victim of a work accident or occupational disease, you are also entitled to six additional paid leave days a year.
